Privacy Policy
Your CV is personal data. This page says exactly what happens to it, in plain language, with no defined terms to look up.
What we store
- Your account. Your email address and a hash of your password. The password itself is never stored and cannot be recovered from the hash.
- Your CV. The text of each CV version you save, as structured fields you have reviewed and corrected.
- Your profile. The answers you give to the qualifying questions: nationality, visa status, emirate, notice period and similar. Nationality and visa status are stored because eligibility for a UAE role genuinely depends on them.
- Your activity. The jobs matched to you, the applications you track, the tailored CVs you generate and what was changed in them.
What we remove and never store
Gulf CVs commonly carry identity details that have no role in matching you to a job. If your CV contains any of the following, it is stripped as the CV is read and is never written to our database:
- Passport numbers
- Emirates ID and other national identity numbers
- Marital status
- Religion
- Photographs
This is enforced in code at more than one point, not by asking the AI politely. The uploaded file itself is also never kept: it is read, and then it is gone.
Who else processes your CV
The text of your CV is sent to Anthropic, a third-party AI processor, to be read into structured form and again when you tailor it for a specific job. This is what makes the product work: there is no version of it that reads your CV without a model reading your CV.
Job descriptions are sent to the same processor for requirement extraction. We do not send your CV to employers, to recruiters, or to any job board. Applying is something you do yourself, in your own browser.
What we do not do
- We never sell or share your data. There is no advertising, no data broker, and no affiliate arrangement.
- No analytics and no tracking. There are no third-party scripts, no advertising pixels and no tracking cookies anywhere in this product.
- No automated applying. We never log in to a job portal as you, never fill in a form on your behalf, and never store credentials for anywhere but here.
Cookies
We set exactly one cookie. It is called jobapp_session, it keeps you signed in for 24 hours, and it holds nothing but a signed reference to your account. It cannot be read by JavaScript.
It is strictly necessary to sign you in, so it needs no consent banner, and you will not see one. If we ever add anything that is not strictly necessary, we will ask first.
Your rights
- Take a copy. Download everything we hold about you as a single JSON file, at any time, from your account.
- Delete everything. Also from your account. Deletion removes your CVs, applications and tailored documents permanently. It cannot be undone and there is no backup to restore from, so take a copy first if you want one.
- Correct what is wrong. Every field read from your CV is shown to you in an editable form before anything is stored.
When you delete your account, records of what our AI usage cost are kept as monthly totals with no reference to you: no user, no dates beyond the month, nothing that could single you out. We keep the arithmetic, not the person.
How long we keep it
For as long as you have an account. We intend to delete the data of accounts that go unused for a long period, and to email a warning before doing so, but that is not built yet and no automatic deletion currently happens. Until it does, your data stays until you remove it.
Where you stand legally
CVs are personal data under the UAE Personal Data Protection Law, Federal Decree-Law 45/2021, which applies to anyone processing the data of people in the UAE wherever they operate from. Our legal basis for processing your CV is your consent, given when you create an account and recorded with the date and the version of this policy you agreed to. You can withdraw it by deleting your account.
JobApp is currently a pilot running with a small number of known users. If that changes, this policy will be updated and you will be asked to agree again.
Contact
For anything about your data, including a request we have not built a button for, write to the address on your account. If you cannot reach us, you have the right to complain to the UAE Data Office.
